Now RFID technology will protect the environment too. An RFID pilot will be conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency for tracking the shipment of chemicals and hazardous waste from Mexico to the disposal facilities in US.

An RFID pilot will be conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency for tracking the shipment of chemicals and hazardous waste from Mexico to the disposal facilities in US.
As per the provisions of NAFTA Mexican manufacturers using raw materials from US need to dispose off hazardous waste in US itself but up till now there was no such means for tracking it.
In case the pilot turns out to be successful then it would equip the agency in better handling of waste shipments when it enters US and reaches the disposal facility.
