Energy Absorption, Sound Absorption and Insulation, Heat Resistance, and Filtration

Porous Expanded Polypropylene (PEPP) is a foam product that offers superior performance capabilities for a variety of applications.

A lightweight, flexible product designed to provide energy absorption and management, sound absorption and insulation, heat resistance, and a wide range of filtration capabilities while maintaining its structural integrity; PEPP is a bead foam, which unlike extruded foams, can be custom molded into a variety of shapes, sizes, and densities to meet the specific requirements for a variety of applications.

PEPP can also be fabricated, cut, or laminated into almost any shape or size.

It also offers impact resistance, variable densities and sound absorption ability.

    Performance Characteristics

  • Continuous Porosity: Ability to specify density. Sound absorption ability.
  • Sound Absorption and Insulation: Provides broad-band sound absorption, attenuation, and insulation.
  • Cushioning: Strong recovery and resilience that meets the highest packaging industry standards.
  • Energy Management: Excellent impact performance that meets the highest industry standards.
  • Filtration: Meets a wide range of filtration requirements from no filtration to complete separation.
  • Oil and Chemical Resistance: Resists alkali, acid, petroleum, and chemical solvents.
  • Lightweight and Flexible: Provides ease in handling and reduces time and cost of installation.
  • Heat Resistance and Insulation: Resists heat and insulates due to unique closed-cell structure. Performs consistently in both high and low temperature environments.
  • Structural Integrity: Maintains size and shape due to adaptability of density to the specific application. Resistant to tearing and abrasion.
  • Drainage: Provides strength and drainage equivalent to a mixture of sand and gravel.
  • Water, Moisture, Mold, Bacteria, and Fungus-Resistant: Resists water and moisture and growth of destructive organisms.
  • Design and Aesthetics: Can be formed into complicated three dimensional shapes. Visually compatible with almost all environments.
  • Environmentally Safe: Free of chlorofluorocarbons (CFC’s), hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFC’s), Hydrocarbons, and VOC or chemical blowing agents.

PEPP offers performance features such as light weight, heat resistance, chemical resistance, fully recyclable, and low VOC emission.
