The pilot was designed to test the feasibility of employing radio frequency identification to improve EPAL’s ability to monitor the pallets’ quality, and to explore how the use of RFID could benefit product suppliers and retailers. With the information gained from the implementation, the organization has written a business case for further RFID-based pallet tracking.

Due to currency hedges for the acquisition, Manitowoc said its third-quarter results would include the recognition of a one-time, non-cash loss of $198.4 million before taxes, or the equivalent of 99 cents per share.

Manitowoc said the acquisition gives it greater capacity to produce refrigerators, ice makers, beverage dispensers and other equipment for commercial kitchens. The company said the integration of Enodis was under way.

Enodis also makes cranes and other construction lifts.

    The setup shows a COMPACTplus-i Safety Light Curtain in the host/guest combination for safeguarding danger points with protection against stepping behind. Optimal access is consequently enabled with the safety distance provided, e.g. for a tool change.
    The height of the top light beam is set in accordance with EN 294, if no further protection against reaching over is planned.
